morning glory mattress as Mike's Tuesday Travel Journal: You want a piece of me?

But somehow I manage. Thanks for helping with that,Mike

Mike,My entire family enjoys your show. I have a son who lives in New York City and he asked last night if you have DVD's of past shows? If not, is there anyway I can download them? He wants to keep up with your shows and stay connected to his roots. Thanks,Ann

Ann,I get this question frequently from viewers with loved ones in another state or country. And sadly I have to tell everyone we have no way to sell you DVD's of the show. In that place where I'm Mayor and make all the rules everyone sends me wads of cash for box sets of the show and I sleep on a mattress made from hundred dollar bills which have been softened by repeated washing and drying. For now I sleep on a mattress I bought from a store that recently went out of business. Until my imaginary place becomes reality, you have to tape the shows yourself. One woman in Statesville used to tape the show and send them to her son stationed in Iraq. And he played Carolina Traveler for Iraqis being trained by our military to be policemen. So the Iraqi Police love them some Carolina Traveler

Firefighters douse Oxford fire

OXFORD - Firefighters from four towns quickly knocked down a bedroom fire at a house on Allen Hill Road on Sunday night. No one was injured, but the smoke and fire, which was contained to a mattress in a bedroom, caused $8,000 to $10,000 in damage to the home owned by Bradley Edwards, fire Chief Scott Hunter said. It appears the fire started after a pillow fell onto a nearby burning candle, which in turn lit the mattress on fire, he said. Hunter said firefighters from Oxford, Norway, Paris and Mechanic Falls responded to 142 Allen Hill Road about 8:45 p.m., quickly extinguishing the blaze. The mutual aid response is standard in a structure fire, the chief explained. Neither Edwards nor another occupant were in the bedroom when the fire started, Hunter said
