'Everything will be OK,' she said. 'As long as we eat three times (a day) and we have a roof over our head and we're all together, that's a blessing.'

The family has a few needs this Christmas, including an electric standing fan to improve the ventilation in the room of the 9-year-old boy. He also needs a fold-up futon mattress and a car seat designed for children with special needs.

The mother would also appreciate any new clothes for her children to help boost their self-esteem.

She reports back to the medical staff to keep them up to speed with the hospitals safety initiatives and compliance as well as contributes a few creative ideas of her own.Keeping a focus on the importance of handwashing is a challenge for busy healthcare providers, says Boudreaux. In the past year, a physician came up with the slogan for the handwashing campaign called the Two Tap Campaign. When we see physicians or co-workers forget to wash their hands, we can tap on the counter or arm to remind them that they need to wash. For the calendar, we are featuring that particular physician champion in a photo. She is wearing boxing gloves and standing by the sink and a handwashing dispenser.Med/surg private unit staff nurse Jeannine Kalil, RN, is a member of the hospitals skin committee, a subcommittee of the patient safety council. In setting up one of our photos for the calendar, we put a nurse in a bed with an air mattress and covered her in bandages. We elevated her arms and her heels and strapped on a pair of huge air booties, says Kalil. In a take on the book Wheres Waldo, we included many safety goal issues in one photo so people would have to hunt for all the safety goals we included, such as a nurse checking the patients armband, the raised bedrails, and the presence of a red bag for biohazardous materials and soiled dressings.Handoff communication is on The Joint Commissions Patient Safety Goal list

After losing their home this year, the family moved twice, selling most of their belongings along the way so they could move into housing that is wheelchair accessible. Both parents receive monthly checks because of their disabilities, but there isn't anything extra for Christmas.
Household needs include food -- for the daughter or the parents -- and such non-perishables as size 4 diapers, wipes, toilet paper, shampoo, cleaning supplies, sheets for a queen bed and a queen-size mattress set to replace their worn-out one.
The daughter needs warm sleepers, size 12-month clothes (sleepers, coat, pants, shirts and T-shirts) and child's size 3 shoes and boots. Mom also suggests bathtub soap crayons and a little indoor-outdoor slide for their daughter to climb

natures bed mattress as Nursing can be hazardous to health

'When you have people getting injured every day, they're losing time at work, and the hospitals end up subbing for them by hiring high-cost nurses from personnel agencies,' she said. 'The hospitals are already facing a severe shortage of nurses and all health care workers. You would prevent nurses from suffering these chronic back injuries that cause them to leave the profession before they should. Plus, when patients aren't moved properly they get hurt and end up staying longer in the hospital.'

Assemblyman Robert Gordon, D-Fair Lawn, a co-sponsor of the legislation, said hospitals also would benefit from lower worker's compensation costs.

'Most of these devices are relatively inexpensive,' he said. 'They range from what you might describe as a super air mattress that you put under the patient and inflate, to devices where the patient is put in a sling and raised from a gurney to the bed. The problem is that the hospitals don't need to buy just one of these devices; they need to buy several for each unit.'

With the state's hospitals facing a fiscal crisis -- a report last week by the New Jersey Hospital Association found that hospitals' average operating margin shrank to less than 1 percent last year -- the legislative leadership is hesitant to enact any measures that puts additional financial pressure on them, Gordon added.

However, the state association has endorsed both bills.

'We're supportive of both [bills] as measures to keep our employees and our patients safe,' Randy Minniear, assistant vice president for legislation and policy at the New Jersey Hospital Association, said Friday.

He said earlier concerns about the costs of implementing some changes and how long hospitals would have to do so have been addressed with changes in the bills

At 2,600 metres above sea level, Sengdhyen village, inhabited mostly by the lhops or doyas, a small tribal community, is one of the coldest villages in Dorokha.
The older students of classes V and VI have the privilege of sleeping on bunkers, but most of them cannot afford bed-sheets and blankets. For many, their only school uniform, a gho, doubles up as a blanket and a spread carton box serves as a mattress. Those who are a little better off use plastic mats for mattresses.
The girls, aged between six and 15 years, occupy two rooms above their classrooms as dormitory.
Sometimes, the younger ones wet their beds at night, and without a mattress, their urine drips to the classroom floor below.

nature's bed mattresses as Tips for better sleep

Avoid spicy, fatty or fried foods and sugary nighttime snacks, which can cause heartburn or rapid shifts in blood sugar that wake you up in the middle of the night. A light, healthy snack, such as whole-grain crackers with low-fat milk, helps some people fall asleep.

DRINK SMART

Stop drinking at least an hour before you go to bed and reduce or eliminate alcohol and caffeine. Note: The stimulant effect of caffeine can last for hours, so steer clear of it after lunch if you're having trouble sleeping.

EXERCISE SMART

Work out regularly, but avoid strenuous activity within three hours of bedtime.

GET OUTSIDE

Exposure to sunlight increases the body's production of hormones that help you fall asleep (put on sunscreen if you'll be outside for more than 10 or 15 minutes).

USE A GOOD MATTRESS

If you're wake up stiff, numb or achy, or if you seem to get a better sleep away from home, you may need a new mattress. While brands vary widely, most are ready for replacement after five to seven years. Sags, lumps or tears are obvious signs. When shopping for a mattress, lie down on each one for a few minutes to see if it's comfortable for you.

USE A GOOD PILLOW

Aim for a cushion that holds your head in the same relationship to your shoulders and spine as when you're standing upright with good posture.

DON'T TOSS AND TURN

If you've been in bed for 20 to 30 minutes and haven't gone to sleep, go to another room and do something relaxing - read, write in a journal or listen to quiet music (no exercise, chores or horror movies). Go back to bed when you feel sleepy.

TEACH YOUR CHILDREN WELL

Put babies down in their crib while they're still awake so they'll learn to fall asleep on their own. If young kids wake up overnight, make sure they're OK, but then send them right back to bed.

MAKE SLEEP A PRIORITY

If it's time to get in bed and rest, whatever else you're doing can usually wait.

Lulu listened carefully to what Father Dominic was saying next: 'Brothers and Sisters, I am very are sorry to tell you that tonight's women's chorus performance has been canceled. None of the women can sing tonight because one of their members is missing. Lulu St. James is stranded above the Tram.

Then Lulu heard the voice of Flossie Ray, the choir director, say, 'Temperatures at the top the tram are expected to drop below 20 degrees tonight, and a search party may not find Lulu before morning.' Next she heard her former boss say, 'Please pray with me that Lulu will be found safely. I plan to give her a new job if we can find her.' With tears choking his voice, Lulu's boss led the worshippers in the familiar words of 'Our Father...'

Lulu turned to Jeanine and asked, 'How did you know I needed help?'
Jeanine replied, 'God sends angels to help people on Christmas Eve. I received a call in Finland telling me to bring a special delivery of white food, a mattress, and an air filter to your address in the Coachella Valley. Your cell phone GPS signal led me to you in the mountains.'

In the Tramway parking lot, Jeanine helped Lulu load an air filter, white bread, and sacks of potatoes and white sugar into her Cadillac trunk. They tied on the new mattress. Jeanine's final touch was installing the side mirror on the car

During the 1980s and 1990s the adhesive used by mattress manufacturers was based on 1,1,1-trichloroethane (TCA), a chlorinated solvent. TCA adhesive was ideal as it evaporated rapidly leaving an instant bond

Lavea is unable to attend to his personal hygiene adequately, and the board said at least two prisoners had been helping with his toileting arrangements.

The prison have done their very best to assist him, but the facilities are restricted and the consequences for him and others around him are very unsatisfactory to say the least, it said.

In the end the board said it was satisfied that Lavea, 38, would not be a risk to the community while he was under home detention, because of close electronic monitoring and his extraordinary health difficulties.

He had been convicted of fraud. On November 15 he dropped an appeal against his convictions.

The Court of Appeal was told that Lavea normally lived on a mattress in an Auckland garage, where his wife and two sons cared for him.

FRESNO, Calif. - A good night's sleep may rest primarily on the mattress quality, but comfortable sheets certainly do their part to promote peaceful slumber.

The main priorities when searching for bedsheets are that they should be comfortable and durable, says Steve Carwile, president of Vivetique, a mattress manufacturer in Arcadia, Calif. The company also makes comforters, mattress pads and bedsheets out of organic cotton and other natural materials.

If you hold a sheet up to the light and can see through it, you should pass on it, he says. As you shop for sheets, consider these factors, as well:

The foam used has a 5.3 lb/cubic foot density. This is important as this plays the most important part in how the mattress feels (comfort) and how much support it gives. Basically, this measurement tells you how heavy the material is for every cubic foot. Many other manufacturers tout that their foam is much cheaper than that of Tempur, but you'll usually find that their mattresses have a lb/cubic foot density somewhere between 2.5 and 4.0. This makes the foam softer and fails to provide good support. Of course, they produce a mattress with a lower density because manufacturing costs are reduced: less material; more air.

In the early days, there was only one type of mattress available from Tempur but now the company makes several types. The ClassicBed is the original

Room No. 62, just off the elevator (I could hear it, but it didn't bother me), boasted medium blue walls with robin's egg blue accents throughout. The room opened into a short, narrow entrance hall that gave onto the main chamber, with its double bed, writing desk, easy chair and, the most pleasant surprise, a terrace. Through sliding glass doors (which cut off all noise despite the scooters buzzing below on Via Spadari), the balcony afforded views east toward the Duomo. Though its Gothic splendor was mostly obscured by commercial buildings, the spires thrust out over their rooftops, making for an inspiring sight of the Madonnina, the gilded statue of the Virgin Mary-she glowed majestically at night.

The bed (a one-piece mattress, instead of the usual twin mattresses pushed together) was backed by an upholstered backboard with carved flower spindles and was heaped with pillows. Unfortunately, the bed pillows turned out to be rather hard, but the mattress was yielding and comfortable, the pure white sheets soft, with intricately stitched edges. The bed had no comforter or coverlet, instead a sash-like covering across the bottom, like a runner on an elegant dinner table. A medium weight blanket was sandwiched between two sheets ensuring that no itchy material ever touched one's skin. (A second blanket was in the closet.)

The desk held a flat screen TV (although no DVD player was in evidence), a packet of hotel information, stationery and list of laundry services. No iron or ironing board in the room

Four days later, on Sept. 20, police found Johnson’s nude body lying on a mattress on the same floor of Saleh’s living room, the affidavit says. It says that similar to Conklin’s case, police responded to an emergency call from Saleh about an unconscious person.

In a brief statement released by his lawyer in October, Saleh said he considered Conklin and Johnson friends and he was devastated by their deaths

Pickton does not contest the fact that those women's body parts, along with the remains from three other victims, were found at his farm. He denies killing the women.

An RCMP forensic lab worker testified DNA matching Abotsway was found on a filmy black blouse found in Pickton's bedroom closet.

Stains on an orange garbage bag on a table in Pickton's slaughterhouse contained DNA matching Joesbury, as did earrings that said 'Lucky' found in that building along with a silver ring.

In a squalid motorhome parked near Pickton's trailer, stains with DNA matching Wilson were found on 26 areas or items - including a foam mattress, clothing, blood smears on walls, bottles, cigarettes, a shower coil with a mangled end, and a space heater.

A stain on the bathroom wall in Pickton's trailer yielded a DNA profile matching Joesbury. DNA matched to Joesbury also turned up on earrings and a ring found in the slaughterhouse, and on a pillow slip in Pickton's laundry room.

Also in the trailer was a tote bag - stained with blood - that jurors heard contained Abotsway's inhaler, a Bible, runners, a pair of black pumps, and three other books. Another bag, a black one for garments, was found full of blood-stained clothing on a bed in the spare bedroom of Pickton's trailer, court heard

natural latex foam mattress as How to get your dream bedroom

That said, decorating a bedroom can be tricky as it needs to reflect the ambience of the rest of your home, yet it also needs to be a haven where you can escape to and chill out. It also needs to look good to wake up to, and still be appealing as darkness falls.

First and foremost, however, a good night's sleep is essential, so invest in a good quality bed. If your mattress is ancient, replace it - for the sake of your back if nothing else.

Splash out on the biggest bed the room can take. An average sized double bed is fine if you are in a cuddly mood, but feels cramped if you are not.

For the ultimate in luxury, consider a four-poster bed. In the past, the four-poster was a symbol of wealth. Even now, it speaks of opulence and extravagance. For a contemporary take on the traditional style, call Berkley on 0870 900 9555

ask the expert mattresses as Critics attack plan to toll I-80

This is wrong, said Steve Patton of Watsontown Trucking in Clearfield.

He credited Clarion area officials with carrying a torch for anti-tolling efforts.

Patton said he doesnt feel politicians in the state appreciate the efforts of hard-working businesspeople.

Ken McGuffin, plant manager at the Sealy Mattress factory in Strattanville, said they have an annual payroll of $6 million.

The plant also runs about one million miles in distribution per year with 350,000 miles on I-80.

The proposed toll would increase the factorys costs by $175,000 a year, he said.

It would not be difficult if costs are high enough for Sealy Corp. to collapse the Clarion plant and move the business into surrounding plants, he said.

John Bilyak of NAI Pittsburgh Commercial said Pennsylvania is behind other states in the region in terms of positive business climate and a toll on I-80 would not help matters

'Not only does the Mormon Church offer salvation,' Case was saying, 'but in addition to your salvation package, you receive a principality in the kingdom of God.' He smiled over his shoulder, then pulled his belt out of its loops and tossed it onto the pile. 'Which sure beats the living arrangements you have now, Claude.'

Claude was sitting on the bumper of the van, its back doors thrown open to reveal a stained mattress and sheets, across which were scattered several water-stained romance novels. His face was framed by wiry gray hair that extended down his jaw and collected under his chin, and he was trying to roll a joint on the frayed knee of his corduroys. The reek of mildew and sweat coming from the van was overpowering, and Joseph, who was sitting in front of Claude, wondered how long he could hold his breath.

Myth 1: When buying a bed, look for a mattress with the highest coil count.
When it comes to coil count, Morrison says more isn't always better. As long as a mattress has a coil count of at least 312, it should be comfortable.

natura mattress reviews as Spain La Liga Preview: Real Betis - Atletico Madrid

There's a new team in town who's wooing all the critics with some electrifying football and spectacular scorelines.

Atlético Madrid have now assumed the role as La Liga's chief entertainers after being involved in three stunning seven-goal thrillers - two of which they won - in as many weeks.

However, those three matches have all been games played at home where they have been simply irresistible in attack. But when they are on the road, it's a different Atlético that tends to turn up on the pitch.

The mattress men have only scored four goals in their last five away league games, a huge disparity in comparison to their unstoppable scoring feats at the Vicente Calderón, and they look as though they might be suffering from a case of split personality.

Mexican coach Javier Aguirre is still looking to find the perfect balance between defence and attack. A good example would be the straightforward, albeit less exciting, 2-0 win over Aberdeen in the UEFA Cup in midweek. Los Colchoneros completely dominated proceedings but managed to keep their attacking gusto in check to successfully and finally keep a clean sheet at home after leaking in ten goals in their last three.

In fact it is to transform her according to the desire of the men: cutting the organs of pleasure of the little girl to attenuate her sexual appetite or force-feed her to make a 'soft mattress' for the future husband. The pinches which accompany force-feeding participate in a process of torment which must lead these little girls to become crushed women, and therefore, subjected to the men.

Many companies have switched to a system of automatic enrollment when it comes to their 401(k) programs, meaning that when you fill out your new-employee paperwork, the default option is to participate. Why not give it a go and see how it suits your budget?

Days after losing two childhood friends in a car crash, a Wanaka woman has escaped a house fire near Arrowtown - fleeing flames chasing her up the hallway.

Harriet Fyfe, 18, raced out of the house with her 17-year-old friend and her friend's father.

Fyfe woke at 4am yesterday to the smell of smoke, but did not realise it was coming from an electric blanket under her mattress.

If I had rolled over and gone back to sleep then, pretty much all of us would be dead, she said.

In the mid-1990s, while living in Wanaka, she had done exactly that - gone back to sleep - after smelling smoke from a fire which, she said, almost killed her mother

Kuala Lumpur - A drunken man who set his mattress on fire managed to burn down his entire village in the eastern Sabah state on Borneo island, leaving more than 200 people homeless, a news report said Thursday. The 29-year-old jobless man was believed to have had a fight with his wife before setting a mattress on fire in his home located within an illegal squatter area, said acting district police chief Ooi Guan Siew. The fire spread rapidly and destroyed 40 other homes in the same village of Muhibbah in Sandakan district, 400km from Kota Kinabalu, Ooi was quoted as saying by the Star daily.

For years Stephen had to sleep on a mattress in the downstairs living room. He had to have a shower in an unheated downstairs outhouse, said Karen. Tragically, it was only four weeks before her death that their ambition was finally fulfilled, and the building work on the extension was finally completed

Two members of staff at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, took a mattress into the cubicle for him to lie on.

Mrs Davies's husband and sister were also in the hospital and confirmed her evidence.

But hospital chiefs told the Cardiff Coroner's Court they had no record of any fall

The mother of two faces up to 40 lashes, six months in jail and a fine if she is convicted of the charges, brought under article 125 of the Sudanese criminal code.

Mrs Gibbons, of Aigburth, Liverpool, appeared in court wearing a dark blue jacket and blue skirt. The media were not allowed in.

Prosecutor general Salah Eddin Abu Zaid said she can expect a 'swift and fair trial'. She was provided with a legal defence team, as well as a private cell, mattress and blanket in detention.

He said: 'We don't think this will be a long trial, because there is only one article of the penal code to handle.'

The Sudanese court system is notoriously slow but he promised fast proceedings.

Jail conditions can be extremely poor but Mr Abu Zaid stressed that Mrs Gibbons has been provided with 'all services', including a team of lawyers and translators as well as a bed and mattress in her cell.

But British embassy spokesman Omar Daair said it was Unity High School, Mrs Gibbons' employer, which provided her defence and translators.

This morning, a Sudanese official said it was 'unlikely' Mrs Gibbons would be convicted.

Dr Khalid al-Mubarak, of the Sudanese embassy in London, said she had one of Sudan's best solicitors - Tijani al-Karib - and could appeal if found guilty

nashville mattress store as Roll out the welcome mat: Give guests a good bed in a special room

So the bed is where you should invest the most research and money, she says. Plan to decorate the room around the bed.

Here Donaldson shares some other tips on creating a welcoming guestroom, from bed to bath and beyond.

How large should your guest bed be?

'It depends on your guests, what they're comfortable with,' Donaldson says. If in doubt, go with a queen-sized bed, she says, but don't go cheap. There are other places in the room where you can save money.

'The important thing is the mattress. The bed frame is secondary,' although men tend to prefer a bed without a footboard, since their toes tend to jut past the end of the bed, Donaldson says. She recommends a Goldilocks method of choosing a mattress - basically, try it out for yourself before you buy.

Don't buy a mattress that feels too soft or too firm. When it feels just right to you, that's probably the bed you'll want for your guests

'I searched hard to find what is the best product to offer American consumers,' says Amer, 41. 'Egyptian cotton popped in my head immediately, because everyone knows how durable it is, how soft, and how it is worth every dollar people pay.'
Slideshow: Five Ways to Make Money Off Your HomelandSlideshow: Nine Tips For Opening A Successful Restaurant
Last year, Amer launched Meditlantic Importers in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Amer brings in mattresses upholstered with Egyptian cotton and sells them to high-end hotels in the resort area. So far, she has landed contracts with two hotels to supply some 240 mattresses at an average of $750 apiece. She hopes to add more hotel clients--and eventually turn a profit--by the end of next year.

Amer began by researching Egyptian mattress manufactures and hit upon Master Bed, a Lebanese company with a factory based in Egypt. She raised some scratch from family members to buy a few mattresses, not knowing if she would be able to unload them. Luckily, she convinced some hotel managers to take a few off her hands, raising enough cash to fund her next order.

To manage inventory (the key to importing), Amer's sales contracts stipulate that hotels must take the entire order; that way, Amer doesn't get stuck with a stack of unwanted mattress. Amer demands half the cash up front, which she uses to buy more mattresses, and the other half upon delivery; she also agrees to eat the cost of all damages during transit

Still, the Bears erased a 5-0 start by losing five of the next six games.

'He's been pretty consistent, but you can see it weighing on him,' tailback Justin Forsett said.

Tedford was already known for his work ethic and schedule, which includes an often-used air mattress in his office. Losses have changed nothing.

'There are many nights when we don't see him go home,' left tackle Mike Gibson said. 'His love for the game is more than anyone I've ever known.'

But during a 6-5 season is there more to be done? Should things be done differently? 'It's impossible to do that,' Tedford said. 'We work and sleep here. Nothing has changed that.'

Plane-parts seller looking at old tire plant BY BILL WILSON The Wichita Eagle
An Augusta aircraft parts distributor has added investors and could expand in Wichita.

Wichita oilman Dave Murfin and businessman Scott Hall, partners in Global Parts Inc., have filed for industrial zoning for the former Mid-Continent Tire and Rubber plant at 1000 E. 13th St.

The building will be renovated next spring, Hall said, with an eye toward a possible expansion of Global Parts, operated by Troy Palmer.

The 53,700-square-foot building was the home of Air Capital Mattress, a manufacturing business owned by Dean Schlabach and Bud Palmer.

Hall said Global Parts has expanded its inventory of older aircraft parts.

'It's been a good, solid business for three or four years,' said Hall, who owns Hall Industrial.

'The opportunity came up for them to purchase a significant quantity of legacy parts, so a group of investors came together that now owns part of Global Parts to assist them with that.'

Murfin, president, and chief financial officer Bob Young said the building was purchased to be home to a 'new business housing aircraft parts.'

'It's got absolutely nothing to do with the oil and gas business,' he said.

But Hall said the building's future is up in the air.

'At this point, it may have shifted a little bit because they want to stay close to their current operations in Augusta,' he said
